Wow, I haven’t seen this footage in an age! Thanks E for fixing a faulty disc. Actually, this is from TWO trips ago around 2004/2005 during the Tsunami & holidays. This is after the Yodgaeng fight but before fighting Kunsuk, training up in beautiful Chiang Mai. That Kru holiding for me (& ignoring the bell for breaks between rounds) is Nook & the other holding for Candice & chastising Nook for killing me w sprints is Kru Den who I worked w most @ that Camp. Den could use his feet/shins like most boxers use their hands. Sick!
It’s interesting to hear you talk about what’s going on in that footage. I’ve watched it a coupled times and I didn’t even notice him ignoring the bell. That’s funny. Also, didn’t you say something about one of the heavy bags being full of concrete?
great vid, you were really pushing yourself. So much that the dude in the green shorts on the double end ball was pretty much watching you the entire time and not hitting the ball.
Ueah, if you watch me kick the bag you’ll see dust flying and dust on my shins. That bag is actually filled with concrete powder. Obviously not cured/set cement but it’s heavy as hell & solid as a rock. I actually had to train a few weeks before I could kick it full blast. Also interesting sidenote, the kid watching me while he also hits bag is, Rex Redden, a Boonchu Gym (same as JWP) fighter fr NZ. He’s a top champion & a real class boxer. His pops was a well known Kiwi boxing Champ back in the day. Rex gave me plenty solid sparring as I remember.
