Justin’s interview about Shane Oblonsky bailing out on their fight

As most of you already know. Justin was supposed to fight Shane Oblonsky this weekend. Shane pulled out of the fight at the very last minute, claiming he “didn’t feel prepared.”

Oh, and by the way… According to MuayThaiAuthority.com Justin is ranked 7th in the Country!

Salutations all you sexy kids. So here on the eve of two weeks and two days into training and I’m feeling capital! This was a rough, stressful, disappointing weekend but what can you do? Get up and go to work.

Though J didn’t fight Saturday it looks like he WILL be fighting for the IKKC 140lb title against the Korean Champion, Park , in San Diego October 2. So this is exciting news of course. The very same night Sideco will be fighting for a title @ 135lb against Joey Camacho @ Cage Wars here locally. I know most of you can’t get to Cali for J so buy tix fr Sideco & go support him and our Camp. Hardest part for me is cornering both, but with Sideco you just wind him up & let go & see what happens! I’ll be in San Diego for sure.

I’m feeling good with training & basically w 10 weeks to go I plan to use the next 5 to focus fitness/conditioning and the 5 weeks prior to the fight as proper fight Camp. Continue reading

working class warriors

This post is a bit overdue but I have been waiting on some important news before ranting about it in anticipation. The good news first? Ok, Cool Hearts ‘We Fight Sexy’ t-shirts & tanks will be delivered to Camp near 6pm tonight. We got an assortment of poppin’ colours & we have long sleeve, short sleeve, & tank top. Priced probably @ $25, $20, $15 respectively.

The bad news? Though J flew to Vegas Wednesday and had all of his medical & licensing requirements fulfilled he will NOT be fighting. His original opponent, Scott Leffler, cracked ribs weeks ago training & that’s unfortunate but understandable. Shane OblonskyLeffler was replaced by, Shane Oblonsky, a young West Coast fighter who also has earned a pro title. Tuesday I received a call from the promoter’s publicist(as the promoter is en route back fr China & delayed by hurricane) saying that Shane Oblonsky is ALSO pulling from the fight. Needless to say, I was disappointed and concerned. As it turns out, Shane ‘did not feel ready’… Continue reading

One week in…

Ok, just finished with a client after fight training. Let me start off by apologizing for typos in these blogs. It’s not a case of poor spelling on my part, it’s simply that I write off the cuff without editing. Truth is I post mainly from the phone and no matter how much weight I lose my thumbs will be too wide for efficient use of these buttons…

Speaking of weight loss, today at the one week mark I am at 208lb. This is only a 2 pound drop from last Saturday but I’m not discouraged, far from it in fact.  Truth is I’m surprised to have lost ANY weight at all. In general when i first begin training I trim and tighten up but actually put on muscle mass easily. So while my dimensions change, weight takes a bit longer to adjust. Continue reading
